Comme son nom l'indique il s'agit de deux images qui doivent vous permettre par analogie de deviner l'identité d'une personnalité vivante ou défunte. Cette énigme est aimablement proposée par BR.

@Pharamond : Gantry compte mais pas Lancaster ; quant à la baignoire, c'est son idée platonicienne de produit des années 1830 environ qui compte, et non le modèle précis.

Elmer Gantry a été écrit par Sinclair Lewis qui était tenu en haute estime par Henry Louis Mencken.
Mencken avait plein de défauts en iste pour les bien-pensants. Peut-être qu'il était hygiéniste, d'où la baignoire. Il me semble que BR l'apprécie.

Le Kamerad Sven gagne la couronne, qui a trouvé la solution, savoir Henry Louis Mencken, ricain digne d'être qualifié d'anar de droite par anticipation, ricain auquel j'aurais autrefois volontiers consacré un blurb, et même un long blurb -- mais à quoi bon ? Service minimum, comme tout le monde.
La baignoire de la première image faisait allusion au célèbre canular lancé par Mencken -- par "célèbre", j'entends évidemment "connu par les ceusses qui connaissent et jugent que tout le monde devrait connaître". D'improbables curieux chercheront "bathtub hoax" afin d'arriver à la fiche de police consacrée à cette très divertissante plaisanterie.
La seconde image montrait Burt Lancaster incarnant *Elmer Gantry, le charlatan*, dans le film de Richard Brooks tiré du roman de Sinclair Lewis, roman qui commence ainsi :

Hommage probablement sincère, quand les mots de l'égocentrique déesse Rand, dans une lettre adressée à Mencken, relèvent presque certainement, eux, de la flatterie intéressée : "I hope you will understand my hesitation in writing to one whom I admire as the greatest representative of a philosophy to which I want to dedicate my whole life."
A propos d'Elmer Gantry, d'improbables curieux iront traquer le *Jesus H. Christ* de Roger Delorme, qui d'une plume alerte et documentée raconte l'histoire de quelques escrocs évangélistes hauts en couleurs, ayant réellement existé, comme le gourou des mormons.
La baignoire, de manière directe ; Elmer Gantry, de manière oblique : seul Mencken pouvait correspondre à ces deux images, l'enchaînement étant Gantry menant à Sinclair Lewis menant à Mencken avec la confirmation de l'hypothèse par le canular.
La page Wikiquote (voir *infra*) en angliche consacrée à Mencken le romantique cynique devrait donner envie de découvrir un mauvais esprit dont la qualité est assez dite par trois de ses grandes admirations : Nietzsche, Twain et Bierce.
